Well the optical blue print is the same design indeed.
But looking at the Tokina somehow I find it VERY ugly and huge. Pentax
did a nice design effort on this one :)

I dunno why I appreciated Photozone tests but I'm more and more
convinced that such short tests are mostly irrelevant.
They point a couple issues which may be of interest. For the rest ...
try the lens.

Just to put thinghs into perspective, compare the photozone test with
the test report from a couple days ago...
* The theory test says it is good but nothing else.
* The practical test and used by guys indeed taking pictures on the
field say it is not far from excellent (if not better).

It is clear enough, to me.
