I can't comment on the Pentax cleaning kit but I've used the wet swab method (Pec Pads - Eclipse Fluid) two or three times over the part 3 years when a blower wont remove the odd stubborn spot. It works well. The biggest hurdle is mustering the courage to do it the first time.
