I agree, but it's a big hill to climb for them. They need to make a high end camera and then get enough highly visible photographers to use it in order for it to be seen. I wonder if Hoya is willing to invest that kind of money up front.

What's always the problem is Pentax assuming that because all the money is made on low end cameras, all you need to build are low end cameras: You need a high end camera to impress newbies into buying your low end cameras. The 1Ds mkIII is almost as much a marketing tool for the Rebels as it is a photographic instrument. In all seriousness, I think Pentax has learned this lesson, but it took them a while. I also suspect the Nikon D700 and Sony A900 have probably killed off Pentax's planned high end APS-C camera and we'll have to wait for the Samsung full-frame sensor to be ready. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. !SIG:48d3c686294031821534593! -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
