I moved a lot growing up and was exposed to a number of schools. Some gave numeric grades and others gave Grade letters. In either case, failing was failing. If you are trying to jump over a puddle of water, does it make a huge difference if you make it 50% or 20% of the way. In either case you're all wet. And so is the discussion.
