All three of the books I have had done at Blurb had some B&W images and they printed just as well as the color. I know that when I uploaded the color images I made sure they were sRGB. One of the B&W's was actually Adobe RGB and another was Monochrome only, no color data. Like I said, both looked good in the final product.
