I'll echo the comments of others. It's really hard to get a sense of scale with this, although seeing the hunter and dog blown up certainly helps! But in the initial photo it's hard to tell how large that plain is, or how tall the mountains in the background or how high up you are. The colours are certainly muted! I think Peter's description is most apt: Bleak!
