yes - it does show his influence.
I'd never heard of Hiroshige until a few years ago, and I didn't like
Japanese woodblock prints that I was familiar with, such as Hokusai,
who leaves me cold.
Didn't really test my "visual literacy", but it did prompt me to see if
I could find out anything about a couple of prints I have from my Dad.
He bought them in Japan during the Korean War. He was stationed at a big
hospital in Tokyo.
Found out they're shin hanga style prints by Tomikichiro Tokuriki, which
I guess makes them the Japanese equivalent of Bob Timberlake prints.
