In my case: I don't quite remember. It might have been Frank when I went up to Toronto to meet with Michael Reichmann and we arranged a TOPDML gathering at C'est What. Or it might have been Doug Brewer at GFM. I don't remember which came first but it I suspect it was Doug. So, Frank or Doug. In either case, you can tell what kind of effect it had on me... ============= I think I met Bruce Dayton first at a NorCal PDML meet. We had talked off list about some of my equipment choices. (I remember riding in a van and admiring at his MF pictures -- this was before we all went digital.) I also met Godfrey and others (including John and Marco) at another NorCal meet. I met Shel when the two of us did some shooting in San Francisco. But previously, years before, I had met John Francis in connection to another group -- not related to photography. So I it was a bit startling to see him again at my first NorCal meet -- in a completely different venue. JF had given me his old Gateway computer when my HD and computer went belly up. I traveled down to San Jose to pick it up and it served me well for a couple of years. I went to GFM in 2004 and the first one I met there was Doug. He was checking people in. Soon after I met Mark and Caesar (I can't really remember who I met when met I walked into camp, but think those two were among the first. Hmmm, come to think of it, also Bill Owens, naturally). Then I meet a whole bunch of other PDMLers at GFM, including frank and ann.
