Pentax via distributor C.R. Kennedy in Australia released a special edition
of the *ist-D, celebrating 50 years of representation in Oz.  Ryan Lee and I
both bought this version, although Ryan has now moved on to C*****.  Tanya
bought my second one when she moved to Brisbane, but I have no idea whether
she is still using it.

The extra features were:
Gold lettering for "PENTAX" on the pentaprism overhang and for "istD"
Gold shutter button and four-way controller.
Gold lettering for "PENTAX" on the rear LCD screen.
"50 years in Australia" screen-printed underneath the rear LCD screen, in
white.

These special edition models were sold at normal prices, as far as I know.

I think that K1000 RED is a fake. For doing that, you only need some tempera
paint to fill the already available engravings and a cloth for cleaning the
extra paint off them.
