OK drum roll .... I got the Optio Z10
Paid $124 - which was within my budget - and bought a 2gig card for $10
I quite like it so far -- except holding it steady is hard for me unless
I'm shooting really fast.

There are quite few things I need to work out and it seems to me the
battery gets used up quickly, but
it is fine for my purposes and the price was definitely right give it's
capabilities...
If there was a pool one which one I was gonna buy, Joe McAllister should
win since he recommended it
But I also didn't ahve a lot of choice at B&H - the others taht looked
good cost more and the only other one
That I even considered (because i could set ap priority ) had other
drawbacks - forgotten now.
I could even take a little video with it... but I'm trying to resist
that temptation
