I second Shel's advice. For the nicest manual focus feel, find an older 50mm f1.4. I was a big fan of the SMC-M 50mm f1.4, as it was quite compact. I believe that from some comparative testing here on the list, the M was determined to be pretty much the worst performer of all the Pentax 50mm lenses, but I shot a lot of work with it wide open and at f2 that I'm quite happy with and proud of. Also, its flare performance is stellar, and it is built quite well and feels glorious to focus.
...or buy a 43mm f1.9 limited if you have the money. I'd buy one if I weren't waiting for the 75mm f2.8 for Pentax 67 to hit the street. ;) -Aaron - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
