My K10D was already several years old when I sent it in. It only
hiccuped on the DA* lenses. I felt the small service charge was
justified.

Pentax can adjust the K10D focus. (You could do it yourself if you
had the early firmware installed.) I had mine adjusted at the
Colorado service center. I believe it was rather inexpensive.
One of the things that amazes me is that they have the gaul to
charge at all. They put a defect on the market and then make you pay
money to fix it.
I am reminded of my much unmissed Isuzu Trooper which leaked oil
from the cylinder head into the spark plug well. It was a design
defect in the engine.
General Motors who was marketing this particular piece of automotive
garbage, in typical fashion, decided that the way to fix it was to
produce a set of spark plug wires that wouldn't dissolve in the hot
engine oil that the end of the plug wires had to sit in.
At $300.00 for a set of six.
Not surprising, they also put a Cimmaron transmission into the thing
and took a relatively unreliable vehicle and made it worse.
Bye Bye GM. I won't miss you at all.
