I have the same feelings. When all else is equal or seemingly so...consumers will look for way to differentiate. Somehow, I think that many 'soccer mom' types would find this attractive and would consider it when they might otherwise pass by the Pentax. These would be the same ones buying the Nikon D40 or one of the myriad of Canon Rebels (I can't keep up with all the sub models). Both of those would more likely be chosen for various reasons, but color isn't one of them.
