Don't think I can recommend anything other than a name brand. Buy it locally, and if you think it's sub-par in any way, take it back for an exchange for another brand or money back.

As far as I know (and that's not far at all), we don't have a problem here with fakes over the counter. I buy at Costco, a US big box store. They'll take any purchase back, no questions.

And I am also of the hard drive backup school. Times 3. Time Machine hourly, different drive nightly with BackUp, and weekly to yet a third drive with BackUp. Then I have a pocket 400 gig I keep separate and disconnected with just photos, finances, address book, and a few other files I deem critical. Those I just drag across, no compression.

Hi all,

Lately I'm getting DVD's (TDK & Verbatim) which appear to be made of two discs sticked one upon another, without a proper sealing/finishing on their
outer edge. Do you think they are genuine products or cheap fakes?

Besides that, what in your opinion is the state of the art in DVD support for archiving pictures? In other words, which DVD's would you recommend?

Thanks,

Dario
