Thanks for the quick look, Charles, Dave B, Paul, Bruce, & Bob W.: I did
forget to mention that I bounced the flash. My folks have white ceilings,
so that helped; I hate shooting in those green walls though; I've gotten
some pretty odd colors from that room.
Paul: the 360 does have the white pull-up card, but I didn't use it for
this shoot--I forgot it was there--next time I'll try it. I wish I could
turn the flash head when shooting vertical, but I guess I'll have to wait
till I upgrade--I'm assuming the 540's flash head turns up for vertical, no?
Bruce: There was a time or two that I thought the flash did do something
hinky--that is, miss read the scene---not put out enough or put out too
little light, but it didn't happen that often--maybe I just got lucky.
Dave: Go put your flash on your camera right now. Set the camera to
manual---set the f stop to F4 (Use the DA 16-45mm lens) set the shutter to
1/60 of a sec to start--set the flash to P-TTL--put the flash head at a
bounce angle--now go shoot something--open up the shutter if it's too dark
BUT KEEP the f-stop at 4--DON'T CHANGE THAT--only change the shutter---keep
opening up the shutter to achieve a better balance of flash and ambient
lighting. I was shooting between 28 - 20 mm, I think. HTH.
