Since my previous reply didn't show up, I'm trying again.
By not including the lower window in #21, the 'scream' effect would be gone.
The exposure in #22 is not harsh (see the original image I've added), while
the rendering I've chosen is. That's intended, not an accident. Of course,
one can like the original one better.

I have some interest in the first one (The geometrical contrasts) but think
