Hi Fred ...

I think it's because I don't often use a 50mm lens, and because I had so
many of them that came along for the ride on bodies I'd purchased. And,
for a long time my main interest was sharpness and contrast. However,
as my interests have changed, and as I've garnered more experience as a
photographer, other characteristics have become an important
consideration. It now seems that a 50/1.2 might be a nice addition.

I also seem to prefer the A and K over the M lenses. Apart from the
"hobo" 50s, and an errant M35/2.8 (and the sorta special M24~35), there
are few M-lenses here. Time has shown that the build quality and feel
of many A lenses, including some A* lenses, leave me cold. The only
lenses I've had mechanical problems with have been A lenses. And, for
some reason, even some of the A* lenses leave me feeling cold,
regardless of what their supposed build and optical qualities may be (I
really dislike, for example, the A*200/2.8). I like the early Ks ...
and as I sit here, typing this and sipping my coffee, I realize that it
would be easier for me to sell most A lenses that I own than the Ks.
