Microsoft does not support MPEG-4.

The codec packages they suggest are commercial. Dunno if there's a
freeware option. Maybe something on Wikipedia?
It opens as a Quicktime Video in a Firefox window for me.
I think I did have to find a codec for Quicktime a while back to play
them. But if so, it was a freeware codec.
