Interesting indeed - if only the government would help you buy a "proper" vehicle... or set of tyres. Good luck!!!

I hope. Trying not to count unhatched chickens.

Played hooky from work today. I could have driven in what we received, but I don't trust the rest of the people here in Raleigh to have the same safe, sane view of how to drive in snow that I have; i.e. take it easy, don't try to get in a hurry and go slippin' & slidin' out of control.

I don't make enough money to repair or replace my car if some fool crashes into me, and without the car I won't get to work ANY days.

And the law around here is f&^ed up when it comes to driving in snow.

If I drive in control with my regular front-wheel drive and regular tires when some lunatic in an out of control 4WD pickup crashes into me, it's automatically *my fault*, because I am deemed to be "operating a vehicle without adequate equipment" ... I am therefore "contributorily negligent" and his insurance doesn't have to pay.

As Mr. Bumble so cogently observed "the law is a ass".

But that's neither here nor there ...

I went out a little while, but didn't stay too long. Had to come back in before I got a heat stroke. We don't get a lot of snow here, and I think I overdid the layering up bit before I went out.

Besides, the image I really want won't come until it gets a little darker, and the street lights come back on.
