Thanks for looking and commenting Frank. I'm amazed you don't recognise General Wolfe of Quebec, getting a taste of Canadian weather! He went to school here in Greenwich, and is buried in St. Alfege's Church, which is the main church in town (designed by Hawksmoor, carvings by another local boy made good, Grinling Gibbons). He stands there now, next to the Old Royal Observatory, with the finest view in all England. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Wolfe > and > > http://www.web-options.com/Snow/content/_2020530_large.html > > Who's the statue with the telescope? On a clear day you have the whole of London spread out below. A lot of people here ski regularly, which is why they have all the kit. A lot of people seem to have taken the day off just to show off their fancy ski gear. Even I broke out the skiing gloves! Left the goggles at home though. > BTW. here's how we deal with a bit of snow on the sidewalks: > > http://tinyurl.com/cmwm48 > > http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_EaTEtfR4WJw/SYIoVdup8QI/AAAAAAAAFL4/ > nWiZQFgvGAg/s1600-h/sidewalk_plow.jpg > We need to fit those to the electric carts that little old ladies drive around the pavements on!
