I recently sent to Pentax USA my DA* 16-50 for edge weakness above 40 mm. (it
had already been in once for not autofocusing to infinity at 16 mm.), and my
DA* 50-135 because the focus mechanism failed. Both had been bought the first
day that B&H had them in stock. Both were out of warranty, but the DA* 50-135
had fewer than 150 shots on it. I gave Pentax a credit card number for the
repairs, and was prepared to have to pay.

Yesterday I got a nice surprise: Pentax USA sent me what appear to be two new
lenses. A check with my credit card company leads me to think that they have
not charged me for these.

So I am happy to submit a nice post about Pentax today. And I look forward to
trying out the new lenses (when my K20D comes back).

I continue to be critical of Pentax's corporate management in Japan
(particularly for not understanding the expectations of non-Japanese
customers), but am pleased to report good customer service from Pentax USA.

Now I need some help: My two new DA* lenses have given me a dilemma. Now that I
no longer have the original lenses, I don't know how to remove them from the
K20D's autofocus correction database. I have already used 17 of the 20 lens
corrections that the K20D allows.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Joe
