Fly into Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Roanoke? Who would be passing by and could pick me up? Need to bring my own tent etc.? Food? Fees? Fleas? Anyone have a brokedown list of preparations and itinerary? Costs other than airfare? I have a backpack, but as overweight as I am right now, I'm probably only good for guarding the beer and campfire building. Could you all trust me guarding the beer? :-) ========== Most fly into Charlotte. Bring a sleeping bag and some basic food to feed yourself and some food to share. Usually someone cooks something one night for everyone and one night someone runs out for pizza. So food to share and money for pizza. Fees are the cost of the Nature Photography weekend, $115, the camping is essentially free. PDML is given special privileges. The animals are really in a "zoo" of sorts, in natural habitat with fences and walkways and easy to get to. You might rule out any other hiking. Oh, also bring your sense of humor. You'll need it.
