What if instead of rotating, the mirror were to slide like a shutter?

Lets have a contest to see who can come up with the most outlandish
rumor that gets picked up and spread around.
How about?: a 6MP sensor with a base ISO of 800, that can be pushed
cleanly to 6400 or up to 256K.
Or: A fully waterproof camera that uses an APS sensor. It comes with
a fixed mount lens, but you have your choice of 31/1.8 a 55/1.4 or a
77/1.8.
