Accordint to Bojidar, the KM was introduced in 1975, discontinued in 1977 ... a two year production run. It was replaced by the M series cameras, which lasted a decade or so, starting in '76. It barely even existed by modern camera standards.

I sold cameras during that time period at a volume camera vendor, on an occasional basis. They never even carried the KM that I recall; I didn't know about it until I researched Pentax cameras in 2004-2005. The only Pentax cameras I recall people buying were the MX, ME, K1000 and LX.
