Let me add...
One of the things I learned when I first went camping and had to cook
for
myself and others is this: you have to turn the bacon over.
and quickly... those "little stove thingies" (I.e. Coleman propane
stoves) are lots hotter than a regular gas range, for some reason)
Cinq: in Britain all that snuffling and shuffling and farting outside
is a
badger. In the USA it's a hungry puma.
More likely a black bear or a racoon at GFM...
When you do finally pluck up the courage (and desperation) to take

pine needles stick to your feet ,tree roots , beer cans, tri-pods, etc
are there for you to trip on on the way to
the (thankfully) enclosed facilities with electric lights and plumbing.
It never rains but it pours
A weekend at GFM without rain wouldn't be a weekend at GFM
10 - The loud buzzing sounds you hear at night are just "chainsaw"
Brooks snoring.
Alas, I won't be there this year - but then, I think, neither will
Chainsaw.
