I used a Sekonic L318 for a long time. (about 15 years). Small, simple, sturdy and accurate. Uses a single AA battery that goes for a long time. Only reason I'm not using it now is that it went with my job when I retired.

Subject: light meters

I think that I'd like to purchase a hand-held meter sometime in the near future. But I'm not really sure which one I'd like to go with. Just looking to meter ambient light. I'd like something small and simple. What do you all recommend?

Also I believe in the past I've seen some that do not require batteries, does such a thing exist?

Thanks.
