Pentax may not even be supplying the internal electronics. Sensor-shift stabilization is common in the P&S world. It's more likely that Nikon is supplying the lens stabilization unit for the P90 and Pentax is relying on the OEM. It's clearly the same sensor in the P90 and X70.
Notice that even the Nikon version uses "Image sensor shift VR image stabilization" (according to Nikon's web site).
The Nikon uses their "EXPEED image processor" and I would guess that the Pentax uses Pentax's "PRIME" image processor. This and other differences lead me to believe that probably most of the mechanics are the same and Pentax & Nikon supplied some of the image processing electronics for their respective versions of the camera. (Interesting note - I can't seem to find any references to video output for the Nikon version.)
In the early days of digital, both Nikon and Pentax had many of their P&S cameras OEM'ed by Sanyo. this is probably a similar arrangement, either with Sanyo or some other manufacturer.
