Yes, different shells. Does it matter?
I don't mean they are perfect clones. I'd say 80% of their hardware (sensor,
stabilizer, lens, screen, viewfinder) looks the same, and of course then
they can run different software.

Not the same camera. Wider lens (26mm-e vs 28mm-e on the Nikon and
Pentax), different control layout, very different shell design (the
Nikon and Pentax are near-identical physically)
