I doubt that that other dog was an Alaskan Malamute. Most likely a Samoyed or American Snow Dog. If a Mal was that white or light, it would be an albino, and have red eyes.
But they are pretty dogs. What breed is yours? Almost looks Dalmatian in form, but the long hair tells me it's maybe a retriever.
