It is basically a design to allow weather resistant lenses and non-
weather resistant lenses to be used on the same camera body,
regardless of the design of the (K-mount) body.

-----

It also refers to two types of cameras, one compatible with weather-sealed lenses and one incompatible. Then there are two lens adapters, apparently with different throat diameters?

There is speculation that this is an EVF camera without a mirror, and so with a different lens-to-sensor distance. Combined with recent statements that Pentax considers the DA lens lineup complete, does this patent refer to a method of using K-mount lenses on such a camera via an adapter?

Pentax has said that there will soon be a camera following "a different concept."
