I have no problem with the actual process of developing black and white. I did it for several years a while back.
The only issues are that my wife and I are extremely sensitive to chemicals. She worse than I. It seems to be getting worse for the both of us as time goes by though. The second issue is scanning. For $10 I can get the film developed, a contact sheet and all the negs scanned at a high resolution to CD. I was looking at that cheapy scanner, but I don't know that I'd be happy with the results. And since I'm not in a position to purchase a more expensive scanner, I thought that I'd do my part to keep the local pro lab open as long as I can.
