I find a quite interesting phenomenon ...

I know many who have purchased the G9/G10 cameras. After an initial period of delight with them, they find they stop using them, aren't getting such good results, etc etc. The G10's controls are definitely nice, if you don't get the picture quality you're looking for, they're for naught.

I also know many who have purchased the LX3 and DLux-4. I had the LX1. Although I find cameras this small a little clumsy in use, these cameras return remarkable image quality. I've exhibited and won awards with LX1 photographs...

I prefer the looks of the DLux4 ... but might balk at the premium price. I only use the RAW capture facilities ... Lightroom 2.2 and above handle them.

I've used both, but I like the knobs & button interface of the G10.
Very easy to change exposure & focus manually. It's also built like a
brick thunderbox.

Also the Leica/Panny RAW format is proprietary (or it was the last
time I checked. You have to use the supplied RAW converter. This may
have changed).

I want a G10.

That's a sweet P&S

Hmmmm...

After reading the reviews of the G10 on LL, the decision has become
much harder to make...
