I swear that courier companies specialize in incompetence. None of
them are particularly good at delivering to anything other than
businesses open 9-5 Mon-Fri.
A UPS telebitch actually told me that very thing when I was trying to track
down my studio lights which B&H had shipped via that carrier (this was many
years ago).
I asked her why they took on deliveries that they weren't prepared to make.
It was one of those conversations that ended badly.
