Thank you Kent, is/was Peisker located in Western Germany? Jos -----Oorspronkelijk bericht-----
The only 400/4.5 I know of that may have been available in M42 mount was the Peisker (sic). I think I bid on one on eBay only last week. Kent Gittings -----Original Message----- Dear Pentaxians, Two days ago I bought a 400/4.5 screw mount lens. With help of the Pentax K-mount adapter I want to use it on my Pentax equipment. I am impressed by the built quality of this lens and I wonder if the combined knowledge of this list could give me information about the manufacturer. It has a "Made in Western Germany" marking, but as far as I know "Revue" never had own factories. I know that Revue sold screw mount and K-mount bodies and lenses under the REVUE brand in Europe. I really wonder wich factory in Germany made this well-built lens Markings: REVUE 1:4.5/400mm. Length from lens-mount to front of front lens is 25cm. Weight including sun hood is 2.2 kg. The lens feels solid and seems made of (diecast) aluminium. The lens has a solid tripod mount and the lensmount can rotate to go from landscape to portrait. A strong alluminium sun hood screws into the front (98mm estimated). Close to the lens mount a plastic holder is positioned to apply (foil) filters. 14(!)diaphragma blades ensure a perfectly round opening at all aperture settings. The diaphragma blades are located somewhere in the middle of the optical construction. As can be expected with this construction there is no automatic aperture. I got the lens together with a ROWI gun type of shoulder fix that is fully adjustable for convinient shooting. I hope there is somebody in the list who can tell mesomething more about the manufacturer.
