Which main window mode are you using: windowed, all but the menu bar,
full screen?
Which view are you using? loupe or grid? if Grid, how big are your
thumbnails?
etc etc ..
There are so many UI options it's hard to know what you're trying to
find out without a screen shot to see what you're doing. If you make a
screen shot and post it somewhere I can see, I should be able to tell
you how to get what you want.
