The DA*50-135/2.8 is a fantastic lens for US$995 MSRP ($1200 Canadian
conversion with current calculator) (as listed on the Pentax

the current US listed prices around $717 to 850 I find, it's a bargain.
Buy from Amazon.com if you want one. Price right now as low as US$717.

I don't see it as worth US $1500 (CA $1800). Not for me. The Olympus
ZD 50-200/2.8-3.5 is an even better performer with a longer range (and
a beautiful, solid tripod mounting foot) and cost me less than US
$800, new. Having had them in my hands together side by side, the
Olympus lens is more robustly made and better finished.
