I've got the Tamron 18-250. The only difference between it and the
Pentax is an extra five years of warranty.

Until I got my DA40, most of the time that my camera was sitting in
the bag waiting to be used, this is the lens that was on it. If I
don't know what I'm going to be shooting, and I want to have the best
chance of getting a shot without taking time to change lenses, this is
the "go to lens".
