The rabbit costume has head-shape (and I think angle-in-the-photo) issues that make it look less like a rabbit and more like some sort of giant, child-eating weasel. In the colour version, the happy bright easter colours and the coded cultural response to them reduce (but do not, to my eye, eliminate) this effect.
