Ok, I must be a butterfingers, but I dropped my MZ-S and FA* 28-105 Sunday, for the second time in five years. The camera seems to be fine apart from some paint chips, but the lens is cactus. The zoom barrel is bent, so it won't zoom, and the repair cost is near the price of one of the FA 28-105.
So, if I want to continue to use occasional film, I have choices: Use a Sigma 28-80 - Ok in some ways, but I lose a very useful 25mm from the long end. Use an A70-210 - brilliant lens, but heavy and starts too long. Forget about zooms and use 28,50 and 135 primes - a classic kit, but then I do lose some flexibility, and I have to carry a bag! Bite the bullet and buy the newer 28-105 - available now but reputedly not quite as good. Bite the bullet and wait for another FA* 28-105 to appear on Ebay. Bite the bullet and get it repaired. Woe is me!
