Cheers, Christine I think it's more noticeable to me (former messenger, current dispatcher and guy who still hangs around messengers from time to time) because I know who most of the messengers are in town - and conversely know who ~isn't~ a courier and is therefore a hipster. To most people, this guy would just be "a guy on a bike". A lot of people like those lock holders because they hold the lock securely but allow one to remove the lock quickly without having to unlock it. This is an advantage if one needs to use the lock as a weapon (those suckers are heavy and hard!). Not being a "weapon-needing guy" I never found that sort of thing necessary. Besides, my lock is an even bigger and heavier hardened-steel chain lock that goes around my waist when riding: http://www.dirtbikebitz.com/images/products/security/GK730231_Kryptonite_Foget_About_It_Chain_Lock.jpg http://tinyurl.com/d2lxuy Thanks for looking and commenting, and thanks to everyone else who looked and commented as well. cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
