I actually have been happy with my DS. I would like to add shake reduction as that seems to be useful tool. My lens set is fairly basic. I tend to use the following: Pentax FA 20-35, Sigma 70-300 APO and my trusty screw-mount Pentax 85 f1/9. I carry but seldom use my FA 28-80. Lenses ---Camera...Camera..... Lenses....Oh phew....I think I'll just go take some pictures.

With all the excitement over a possible new digital camera from Pentax....what used Pentax camera do I start to look for as a suitable successor to my IstDS? Curious minds want to know.

That really depends on what you are looking for.
I'd start with a base requirement of being able to use SDM lenses,
so I believe the list would be K10D, K100D Super, K20D or K200D.
If you also want a battery grip take the K100D Super off the list.

I've been happy with my K10D, but then I'm still using a *ist-D
as my backup body (although I'm interested to see what is coming
in a few more weeks ...). I didn't feel the K20D offered enough
extras to tempt me, but you're in a different situation; are the
extra features worth enough to you to justify the extra price?
