So I've made a few changes to my website. Some things I wanted to do, some things you all suggested. I'd love to hear what you all have to say about it. Thanks! http://www.nickdavidwright.com/
- I like the control layout more. Easier to see, more predictable locations, fits better on a modest sized screen.
- As Bob W said, the multiply-sized image layout index was more magazine like and a little more appealing than the regular thumbnail grid.
- One thing I found was that the image layout with thumbnails at the bottom is very nice for horizontals and a bit out of sorts for verticals. Given a mixed set of photos, the horizontals will always image larger and have more visual impact. Part of this is that there is less surround space surrounding the horizontals ... they don't look crowded but they fill the visual field more completely.
If this is fine to your eye, it's probably nothing to worry about. My inclination is to adjust the size of both horizontals and verticals so they have roughly equal weight and are framed by the surround space similarly.
Overall I'd say this design is looking very nice, good stuff. :-) Godfrey -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
