It could be, but that's not what the EXIF says:

Mirror lenses also have that initially-infuriating but often very useful
paper-thin focal plane, that allows focusing through the vegetation.

If it's possible to set up in a hide, certainly.  Most of the places
accessible to me don't allow that as an option.

Even with the 10 foot distance available when lurking behind the
bookshelves and taking pictures of the goldfinches at the feeder on the
balcony, 300mm is not a lot for songbirds.
