Thanks to all who looked and especially who reponded. It is interesting that so far people here preferred the square version, while my wife liked the rectangular (with different side length :-) ) better.
I'll try to play with the contrast, - maybe indeed, desaturating the non-green channels would work or play with the overlays. Bruce, - yes, radial blur sounds about right. I'll check it next time I open Photoshop (which is on another computer). Wow! My photo inspired Bill for poetry! Bill, the way it started (probably the rythm), was suggesting it would be a limerick, but it fell short of that.
