The market itself isn't a business. It's a non-profit organization
that has worked with the city to allow independent local producers a
place to meet and sell their goods.

That said, the local independent producers are licensed businesses.
And most of them are doing rather well considering the fear-mongering
being played out in the national media.

I believe that a key ingredient of a strong economy is small-scale,
local, diversified businesses. So much of my personal work focuses on
folks working towards that end. I also believe that small-scale local
agriculture is extremely important, so the market allows me a chance
to photograph both the economic and agricultural sides of that
equation.
