Is the Nishiki worth fixing up? I've got a bike that I've decided isn't worth fixing up about 5 times over the past 20 years (I've had it almost 30, and the frame was old then). The last time that I decided that it wasn't worth fixing up I bought a brand new, built to my specifications, very nice, bike.
Then six months laters bartered with the bike shop and resurrected the Legnano one more time. I keep it at the office to ride to lunch. If you peruse craigslist, you can get some amazing deals on very nice bikes, but it really helps to have someone who knows about bikes to help you shop. The depreciation on good bikes is something fierce. You think photographers are nuts about having the latest, shiniest technology? They don't hold a candle to spokeheads. -- The fastest way to get your question answered on the net is to post the wrong answer.
