I guess my point is that if you've already pissed off a cop or a rent
a cop by shooting something they think you ought not be shooting,
showing them a phony ID (whether illegal or not) is only going to piss
them off more.  Perhaps they're not illegal, but these little things
(or an accumulation of them) often make the difference between "a
stern warning" and spending the night (or longer) in the can.

Pissing someone off by asserting your rights is noble and right.
Pissing them off with some stupid-ass fake ID is just idiotic.
