Thanks for the replies. I downloaded the VueScan software and it works
great with the Canon scanner.  The user interfacis a bit quirky to me
but I have managed to figure it out enough to make a couple of quick
scans.
Here is one of the Marine F-4 crash I was telling Dan about. (Hey Dan,
bet you never did this!)
