I had similar success with my MZ-S and AF-280T flash at my family's Christmas gathering. I did a lot of bounce flash off of the ceiling and the results were terrific! An off-camera mount and contrast control would probably yield even better results....

The results were astounding. ALL of the exposures were dead on, there was not a trace of redeye. As a matter of fact, it was difficult to tell that flash was even used on the majority of the shots.
