Anybody well versed on the alternatives to
ACR for converting PEF files? Either as a photoshop
plugin for photoshop CS or standalone program
to use in conjuction with photoshop CS?
It seems I have to buy a new version of photoshop
just to get updated ACR for the latest Pentax
camera's PEF files? I dont like that. Photoshop
CS meets all my needs at this time, I dont wanna
buy PS again just to get a ACR plugin for new
PEF files if I dont have to.
There's a work-a-round.
I believe Adobe still offers the free DNG converter and it's regularly
updated to support the latest versions of PEF, NEF ... whatever.
Once converted to DNG, the version of ACR that comes with PhotoshopCS
should open the files.
I remember doing this with Photoshop 7 back before I got CS, but I can't
remember what PEF file I had that wasn't supported by Photoshop 7's ACR.
